An award-winning author and illustrator urges the students at Elida Elementary to dream big. Bruce Hale has written and drawn over 70 different books. He started with picture books and then got into chapter books, creating such series as "Chet Gecko Mysteries" and the "Clark the Shark" series. Hale talked to the kids about his path to becoming an author and the importance of using their imagination.

Some Lima City School District students learn they can be anything they want to be. That from graphic novelist Joel Christian Gill, whose book "Fights: One Boy's Triumph Over Violence" was cited as one of the best graphic novels of 2020 by the New York Times. Gill is making stops around the district to share his story about beating the odds of his childhood to become a successful author and illustrator.

The struggles of a new marriage and a failing business didn't break her faith, and that is what led a Lima native to success. Lisa Kroehler has authored a book titled "Never Say Never" that tells the story of the obstacles she and her husband faced and conquered. They met on a cruise and fell in love, and she moved to Minnesota. His pig farm was in financial trouble and collapsed. After several new business attempts that failed, their faith and resilience led them to a business concept that has had them working side by side for more than three decades.
