For about 15 years, the Lima office of AAA has issued reminders to motorists to drive carefully and watch for students and buses on the road. This year, they are partnering with the Lima Police Department and Lima City Schools to urge drivers to slow down and stay alert.

Allen County Public Health is excited to announce its Teen Immunization School Spirit Day on August 21, 2024, from 2 to 5pm. The clinic is for pre-teens and teens entering grades 7 through 12. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all required and recommended vaccines will be available. The clinic is located at Allen County Public Health, 219 E. Market St. Lima, Ohio.
Lima City School educators and staff are ready to have fun as they gear up for the 2024-2025 school year. On Tuesday, it was a pep rally atmosphere at Lima Senior, as all of the school district staff were on hand for the school year kick-off. Besides the cheerleaders, band, and choir, nationally recognized speaker and author Jack Berckemeyer brought laughter to motivate the staff to have a great school year.
As students return to school, the Mercy Health-Saint Rita's Community Impact Team wants to focus on family health. They will be holding a Back to School Education Fair this Saturday. There will be some school supplies available; they are focusing on hypertension, smoking, and vaping education. They are encouraging families to take time to be together, to talk, and to take notice of how each of them is feeling.
