Lima City Schools hosts annual back-to-school celebration and supply giveaway

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO)- Hundreds of families gathered today for Lima City Schools’ annual back-to-school celebration and supply giveaway.

Students picked out brand-new backpacks and supplies for the upcoming school year. As part of the back-to-school bash, the district provided a free picnic dinner, games, and resource booths to help families start the year off on the right foot. New Superintendent Andre Rudolph said he’s excited to be part of such a tight-knit community.

“This right here—if this is any indication of what the next few years will look like—this is amazing,” Rudolph said. “We’ve got several hundred people out here, a ton of kids, popsicles, games. Everybody’s having a great time, fellowshipping, getting supplies, getting ready to come back to school. So, it’s amazing. I’m excited.”

Lima City Schools will welcome students back on Wednesday, Aug. 13, for the new school year.
