LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Shawnee United Methodist Church hosted their 25th annual Blessing of the Bikes.

With the warmer weather comes motorcycle season, and accidents happen. Shawnee United Methodist Church has been hosting the Blessing of the Bikes since 2001, and this year marks a big milestone, being the 25th blessing. Each biker was prayed over individually, as well as connecting with other bikers in the community. Organizers say that this is the most attendees they've seen yet.

"It's important to pray over anything, but we like to get the summer started off with a prayer over the bikers. And, hopefully, they'll have a good and safe season," says Tony Hayes, an attendee.

"Well, well attended. It for a greater cause than ours, and, we appreciate all the people that come, and we'd like to see more here, if possible," says Garland Bowers, an attendee and member of the church.

With over 500 bikers, each one left feeling blessed.
