LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima City School educators and staff are ready to have fun as they gear up for the 2024-2025 school year.

Lima City Schools are back in session on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, it was a pep rally atmosphere at Lima Senior, as all of the school district staff were on hand for the school year kick-off. Besides the cheerleaders, band, and choir, nationally recognized speaker and author Jack Berckemeyer brought laughter to motivate the staff to have a great school year.

Berckemeyer calls himself an optimistic educator, and through all the jokes, he was bringing home an important message to the educators: to find joy and have some fun.
"Because I think teachers need to laugh. We gave a very serious job, and that job is teaching children, and our kids really need us now more than ever. I hope they learn a few things that they can actually do in their own classroom and ultimately enjoy each other's company. This is a great opportunity; teachers don't get to come back that often and be together as an entire district. So, one of the things I love is seeing them say hello to each other, welcoming each other back. Kind of like a family reunion," says Jack Berckemeyer, motivational speaker.
