LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Members of the Lima Family YMCA will see several areas of the facility temporarily close as the organization completes its annual maintenance and renovation projects.
The largest impact will be the closure of the YMCA pool from Aug. 1 through Sept. 5 while crews install a new air ventilation system. The project is part of the facility's yearly maintenance schedule aimed at improving the member experience.
"We're doing a new air ventilation system. It gets really warm in there. That'll be closed definitely from the 1st of August through the 5th of September. Other areas of the Y will be closed, but the Y will still be open maybe at a week at a time. Locker rooms, hallways, just to do some renovating and updates," said Carrie Donaldson with the Lima Family YMCA membership department.
In addition to the pool project, other areas of the facility, including locker rooms and hallways, will be closed periodically for short-term renovations. Despite those temporary closures, the YMCA will remain open throughout the maintenance period. The pool is expected to reopen in early September.
