The Findlay Hancock County Public Library got an early of welcoming in 2023. At noon on Saturday, the library held their annual “Noon Year’s Eve” celebration, but this is the first year that they added a balloon drop to the party.   The kids could also make their own 2023 hats and take part in a sing along and story time.  The event just continues the fun family programing that the library likes to provide.

This is Anna Marie Klink's first trip up in a hot air balloon at the age of 100. She and dozens of other Otterbein Cridersville residents got to mark this one off their bucket list. Midwest Balloon Rides based outside of Indianapolis provided the rides. Otterbein administration says it all happened because a resident's son knew a person who knew a person and the rest is history.

The 22nd annual Flag City BalloonFest will be taking over Emory Park in Findlay. The 50 hot air balloons from all over the United States will be on hand, which is the most that the event has ever had. The balloons will be in the skies every morning all weekend and part of the illuminations tonight and Saturday at 9 p.m. plus, there are helicopter and tethered balloon rides that people can pay to take part in. But the hot air balloons are just part of the fun.

Family and friends of the late honorary Lima Police Officer Maleek Nelson gathered Saturday to honor him on his birthday.A balloon release celebration was held today outside the nelson home.

This was in honor of Maleek Nelson who would have been 10 years old today.In October of 2018 he passed away due to a heart condition.The family thought this was a great way to celebrate his birthday because of his love for balloons.
