LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Free summer concerts returned to Faurot Park for the 57th year on Sunday evening.
Before the primary election, Alice Donahue and Bart Mills filed a civil lawsuit against Hardesty and the Allen County Board of Elections saying the board abused their power when they voted to uphold her residency, in turn allowing her to run for mayor. Donahue and Mills contend that Hardesty was living in Texas until October of 2020. But Hardesty has always said that Lima was her home and just worked outside of Ohio.
Tonight, the Curtain Call summer concert series kicked off. The free events are hosted by the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center, where guests are treated to free live entertainment. Besides showcasing local musicians, the events feature a cash bar, and a new specialty cocktail every week. The concert series is sponsored by The Union Bank Company and Wingate by Wyndham.
It's 110 years old, but has a lot of potential to fill some needs in Allen County.
