COLUMBUS GROVE, OH (WLIO) - The Village of Columbus Grove gathered for a fun weekend tradition that goes back about 100 years. 

COLUMBUS GROVE, OH (WLIO) - Catholic Schools Week began Sunday, and one school invited parents to come to see what they're all about.

The radKIDS program is a 13-week safety training that travels to various schools in Lima. Today's focus was dog safety featuring the Lima Police Department's newest K-9 named Roscoe. Students learned how K-9s track down suspects, find narcotics, and how they protect officers. The program teaches kids important lessons on self-defense and how to identify tricks child abductors may use.

The students at St. Charles kicked off their week of fun activities and service projects with a prayer service. The students will be making a donation to the Lima Rescue Mission and will be writing notes of encouragement to health care workers. They will also have fun activities like pajama day and a volleyball game between the staff and the 8th-grade students. Through these events, the school shows the value of Catholic education and what it provides to young people and to the community and church.
