No one was injured in the 2-alarm fire, but the blaze did cause an estimated $40,000 in damage to Chase Bank.
The man came in a handed the teller a note demanding money and then left the bank on foot. Law enforcement searched the area but could not locate him. This is the second bank robbery in the Lima area in a week and a half. The Lima Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at the State Bank on June 4th. A Marysville man has been arrested for allegedly robbing banks in Northwest Ohio, including one in Findlay last month. According to the Toledo Blade, 39-year-old James Eickemeyer was arrested Thursday by the Toledo Police Department. Eickemeyer is suspected of robbing the Chase Bank in Findlay on May 23rd. He is also a suspect in a Wednesday robbery at a bank in Toledo. The affidavit says that police found the clothing he wore during the robberies and a fake handgun when they arrested him. He will be tried in federal court on the charge of Bank Robbery.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office releasing pictures of the suspect that robbed the Chase Bank Tuesday morning. The sheriff's office released some pictures of the Harding Highway Chase bank robber. They say is white male and is approximately six feet tall and has a medium build. The hood of his neon yellow hoodie was drawn up tightly around the suspects face to make it harder to identify him.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect who robbed the Chase Bank on Harding Highway on Tuesday morning. The sheriff's office got the call just after 10:30 a.m. The suspect was described as a white male wearing blue jeans, a neon yellow sweatshirt, and sunglasses. He came into the bank and demanded money from a teller, but according to scanner traffic did not show a weapon during the robbery and no one was injured. Then the suspect ran into the Lost Creek subdivision. Deputies searched the area and even sent up a drone to aid in the search, but no arrest has been made.
A Burger King employee was robbed at gunpoint this morning at Chase bank.
The call came in at around 4:30A.M. that an employee at burger king was making a night deposit at chase bank on west high street in Lima when a black male approached them with a handgun and took the money.
A lot unfolded in court surrounding a Michigan man and a 2014 bank heist. Brian Matheny returned to Allen County Common Pleas Court where he was ruled competent to stand trial. Matheny had been getting treatment at the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital since 2015. After being deemed fit for trial, Matheny then decided to change his plea to guilty for aggravated robbery. Matheny held up the Chase Bank in Bluffton in October 2014, giving tellers a note that threatened an explosion if he wasn't given money.
The Michigan man who threatened to blow up a bank in Bluffton in 2014 will remain in a facility to treat his mental issues.
