Summer is in full swing, but it's not stopping Lima from getting in the holiday spirit. With Christmas under five months away, the Salvation Army is wrapping up its 'Christmas in July' fundraiser that assists those in need. The campaign started back on July 8th and runs through this Saturday at all Chief and Kewpee locations locally. The program relies on the generous help of volunteers and donations from those who lend a hand to those in need.
Chief Supermarkets made a special donation for Family Promise of Lima-Allen County Monday afternoon. The organization was given $2,000 worth of diapers from Chief, to be given to families in need throughout our community.
With new guidelines continually coming from the state on how to handle business during this time, cooperation from all parties is needed to keep it as smooth as possible. Chief Supermarkets have been open throughout the pandemic with precautions set in place as early as possible. Dividers have been installed at every register, carts are disinfected regularly, and they have even designated one-way aisles. Employees are now also required to wear face coverings, in response to Governor DeWine's newest protocol for all businesses.
Summertime isn't just for the youngsters and a local leadership program wants to invite the adults out for some fun.
