Tuesday, the Crossroads Crisis Center held their annual tree planting in memory of those who lost their lives to domestic violence, to honor those who have survived domestic violence, and for all those who are working to end domestic violence. Crossroads officials say that there is more than just physical abuse that comes from the violence and that the partnership they have with the 'we care crisis center' is a key service to many individuals.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced annual funding to 48 domestic violence shelters across the state.

Nearly $1 million will be distributed to the shelters evenly that support battered men, woman and children. One of those shelters is the Crossroads Crisis Center. The executive director calls this an incredible accomplishment. She said the funding has limited restrictions, but they haven't decided how to use the money yet.

66-year-old Emily Wrencher, former executive director of Crossroads Crisis Center, returned to Allen County Common Pleas Court Tuesday to accept a plea deal from the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office. She faced one felony charge of grand theft with the indictment stating she stole more than $7,500. The amount was taken out and she pled guilty to a first-degree misdemeanor theft charge. She has been sentenced to 10 days in jail, a $1,000 fine and ordered to pay $9743.74 restitution to Crossroads Crisis Center.
