A faculty concert was held tonight to give some local teachers the spotlight they deserve.

Art has long been recognized as a therapeutic outlet, and some Ohio State University at Lima students are using it to spread positivity across campus.

A local mentoring organization has launched a new partnership aimed at reaching more at-risk youth in the community.

“We can make things with our hands, without an iPad or a phone or a computer,” said Sarah Waters, professor of music at Ohio Northern University. “I mean, look, they got—I got glue all over me. They’re painting. They’re making gourds. We’re going to construct drums. I think we’re losing touch with our humanness, our elements of nature.”
