With conflicts going on all over the world, Delphos St. John is looking to shine the light of peace during the Christmas Season. The Peace Light was shining bright during the annual Delphos Community Christmas Service Monday night.
It was a Monday Evening full of scripture, music, and community gathering inside Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church as community members came together to celebrate the Christmas season. The Delphos Ministerial Association hosted the 44th Delphos Community Christmas Worship Service with a variety of musical performances that feature the Delphos St. John's Handbell Choir, Jefferson High School Choir, several soloists as well as scripture reading to worship the birth of Jesus for Christmas.
The members of St. John Catholic Church in Delphos are reaffirming their faith through an event that they haven’t done for years. Sunday afternoon, the parish started a 40 Hours of Adoration, where different members of the parish will come to the church to pray each hour. The devotion of Forty Hours originated six centuries ago in the catholic church. The parish members will spend time in prayer before the Eucharistic Lord to seek help and create a deeper connection in their faith.
Monday Evening was the first night of a two night performance series at the Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The nationally-reclaimed Catholic inspirational performer and author Doug Brummel arrived in Delphos Monday Evening to perform the first part of the "Lighten Up!" catholic ministry.
