After visiting multiple cities in the state to start her campaign, Nan Whaley made Lima her final destination for the day. People sipped coffee at the Vibe Coffeehouse and Cafe, while being able to have open conversations with the candidate. Some of Whaley’s key concerns include making sure families are being paid affordable wages and improving education for underserved communities.

Democratic candidate Norman Capps filed his petitions for Jay Begg's seat before the 4 o'clock deadline. He served as a Perry Township trustee for 14 years and served in the military for two years. Capps is also a retired member of Local Piipefitters Union 776 with over 30 years of experience.

In addition to that he is a member of NRA and a family farm owner and operator. He believes he is best fit for the role of commissioner because of his leadership abilities and qualifications.
