It’s hard to believe it’s time to think about prom but many teens have been thinking about it for some time. The Lima Kiwanis Club created their “Diva’s Den” to provide dresses for free to any young woman that is in need of a dress. The dresses are gently worn or even new and ready to take home. “Diva’s Den” will be open this Saturday, January 22nd from 9 am to noon at the Lima Masonic Center at 2165 North Cole Street.
Now that Governor Mike DeWine has given the go-ahead for prom season, it’s time to get ready. The Lima Kiwanis Club will be holding their “Diva Den” event this Saturday. It will be a chance for young ladies to come in and pick a prom dress from the hundreds on the racks and take it home for FREE. That’s right – FREE. For more than a decade the “Diva Den” has provided quality dresses, some gently used and some that have never been worn to dozens of young women from around the region.
The Kiwanis Club of Lima, sponsor of Diva's Den, a program to distribute free formal dresses and gowns to area high school students has postponed the dress giveaway event scheduled for Saturday, January 19. Due to the predicted weather event Saturday from Winter Storm Harper, Diva's Den has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 9th from 9:00 am to noon at the Masonic Center, 2165 N. Cole Street. We apologize for any inconvenience, but the safety of the students and our volunteers is of paramount importance.
