Diva's Den helping girls get ready for prom

For the past 10 years, the Lima Kiwanis Club has been helping area girls head to prom with the perfect dress, thanks to their Diva’s Den Project. They had hundreds of free dresses to choose from, including 200 new dresses donated by Don Johnson’s Florist and Bridal when they went out of business. All of the used dresses were cleaned by Duffy’s cleaners, before they were given away. This year has been their busiest one yet and they are happy to help make girls’ prom dreams a reality.

“We love to be able to do this,” says Candy Newland of the Lima Kiwanis Club. “We had so many people thanking us for this service to the community. With the Masonic Center to offer to this beautiful facility, without Duffy’s Cleaners to make sure the dresses are cleaned and pressed, and this year without Don Johnson’s who gave us, literally 200 dresses, we had a lot to offer the girls, way more than just in Lima.”

If you have a old prom dress that could help a young girl out, next year hold on to it until December and then take it to Duffy’s Cleaners for next year’s Diva’s Den.
