LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Kiwanis Club is expanding its Diva's Den project to help girls have the perfect dress for homecoming.
The Kiwanis Club's Diva's Den project has been going on for a few years now and has helped many girls get a used dress for free for the prom. But now the Kiwanis will be holding a second event on September 7th at the Lima Masonic Center, located at 2165 N Cole St, Lima, OH 45801, to give students the chance to get that perfect dress for the homecoming dance without spending an arm and leg for it.
"These are just expensive events, and as more time goes on, the more pricy they can get. So, every girl deserves to have these events, feel beautiful, and have fun, and their parents may not have to worry about the cost involved. It's just great to see these girls come out and have fun and wear a pretty dress and leave really happy," says Ann Meining, Lima Kiwanis Club.
The Kiwanis Club is looking for some dresses that they can give away during their next Diva's Den. If you have a gently used dress you would like to donate, take it to Duffy's Cleaners, located at 2505 Shawnee Rd, Lima, OH 45806, so it can be collected and cleaned before the event. And if you have some old suits too, they will also collect those for the boys that might need them.
