The tank has visited the school for several years, giving students a glimpse of what is made locally in Allen County that is used by military personnel around the world.
Cleveland’s firsthand account of his time with the 3/25 is now the subject of his book, Mother’s Day, titled after the day his unit was ambushed. Several of his friends were killed or injured in the attack, including Cleveland himself. He said writing the book is his way of keeping their memory alive.
Since 2017, the Allen County 9/11 Memorial Foundation has raised roughly $60,000 to create an educational program to keep the memory of 9/11 alive.

May 31, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State University Extension Allen County: Allen County – The Allen County Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting several educational programs this summer for children at the Lima Children’s Garden located at 620 West Market Street, Lima, OH 45801. They will host a Hands-on-Habitat program on Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. The program is for ages 5–10. Parents must stay on-site for the duration of the program. The cost is $10 per participant, and payments can be made on the day of the program. Pre-registration is required and is limited to 20 spots. To register, call 419-879-9108.
