May 31, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State University Extension Allen County: Allen County – The Allen County Master Gardener Volunteers are hosting several educational programs this summer for children at the Lima Children’s Garden located at 620 West Market Street, Lima, OH 45801. They will host a Hands-on-Habitat program on Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. The program is for ages 5–10. Parents must stay on-site for the duration of the program. The cost is $10 per participant, and payments can be made on the day of the program. Pre-registration is required and is limited to 20 spots. To register, call 419-879-9108. Registration must be received by Friday, June 7.
In July, two Pollinator Pals classes will take place for children to learn about who our pollinator pals are and how to be their friend. Participants will make and take home a pollinator watering station. Both classes will take place at Lima Children’s Garden, located at 620 West Market Street, Lima, OH 45801. A class for ages 7–10 only will take place on Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. A second class for ages 4–6 only will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. Parents must stay on-site for the duration of the program.
