LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — It was a night to reflect on a year of achievement and look ahead to the future.
Family, friends, faculty and students filled the Martha Farmer Theater for the annual academic celebration at Ohio State University at Lima. The event recognizes the academic successes and milestones of students, as well as the instructors who teach them. There is also a special emphasis on inspiring the senior class by inviting alumni to return, including one graduate who is giving back through an endowment fund he created.
“The endowment is designed for first generations students....it's now approaching one million dollars. He’s glad to be enriching the lives of students like OS did for him...it's a blessing to come full circle,” says Dr. David Rolsten, OSU Class Of '77/Retired Dentist.
“The academic celebration is an opportunity for seniors to come together to celebrate everything they've achieved to get to this point,” says Nicole Pohlman, Class Of 2026.
Numerous awards were presented to staff and students during the ceremony. Several honors tuition scholarships were also awarded.
