Roundabout projects projected to begin this Summer on North Cole Street in Lima

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Allen County Port Authority is preparing to begin work on a roundabout project along North Cole Street, tied to ongoing development tied to Google’s planned data center.

Officials say the organization is finalizing construction teams that will handle groundwork and installation of roundabouts at Cole and Bluelick Road and Cole and State Route 115. The $11 million in road improvements are part of Google’s $500 million data center project being built along Cole Street between the two intersections.

“All of the funds associated with the improvements of the proposed roundabouts being at State Route 115 and Cole Street and Bluelick. And if there's funds left, we'll, we'll look into Diller and Cole Street. But all of those funds are being furnished by Google. You're going to start see a lot more activity out on North Cole Street, and we'll have some public meetings scheduled for sometime in mid May, but construction is likely to start in early summer," says Cindy Leis, CEO/President – Allen Economic Development Group.

In addition to the roadwork, the Allen County Port Authority is seeking proposals from hotel management companies to redevelop Memorial Hall into a hotel. Once proposals are received, officials plan to provide tours of the historic building and aim to select a company to operate the hotel by this summer.
