Much of Hardin County is in the dark today following a fire. According to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, a large fire erupted at an electric substation just south of Kenton, with the City of Kenton announcing in a Facebook post that all Kenton residents would go without power starting at about 9:20 a.m. Friday morning. The sheriff's office states that power may be out for an extended length of time, and black smoke may be visible even if there is not an active fire.

Students at Delphos St. John's will not be returning to school this week after an electrical fire broke out early Monday morning. The fire was contained to a maintenance room, but the smoke and soot from the fire spread throughout the school. Servpro will be working on cleaning the school building and the vents for the rest of this week. When the students return on Monday, things will be a little different for a while.
