The museum is filled with Christmas trees all of different sizes, shapes, and colors. Local organizations and clubs come to decorate trees that are on the first floor of the museum, and the second floor is all done by local volunteers looking to spread the holiday cheer with their unique designs. The museum's gallery of Christmas trees is just the tip of the iceberg for folks to come and see what they have to offer and learn about the community.

It's the most wonderful time of the year at the Allen County Museum! In collaboration with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District and the Allen County Master Gardener volunteers, the annual Christmas Tree Festival is back for its 51st year! The festival features over 130 Christmas trees registered by area organizations, community groups, and individuals, decorated for everyone's enjoyment.

It was a lot of fluffing, stringing of lights, and hanging ornaments as hundreds of people were setting up for the 51st Christmas Tree Festival at the Allen County Museum. More than 130 trees will be on display representing just as many area organizations. You will see an array of trees including a Lima Loco player, a corn shock, a quilt tree, and a Rhodes State graduate along with many others.

Each group works on crafts and other activities to ensure that every child knows they have an adult in the building they can go to if needed. During this afternoon's mentor day, everyone played Thanksgiving or Christmas-themed games after making ornaments for this year's Allen County Christmas Tree Festival.

3rd graders at Unity Elementary School watched and learned as Halloween magic took place in front of their very eyes. The experiment involved dry ice, water, dish soap, and elephant toothpaste, giving the kids an up-close look at science in a way that ties it in with the magic of Halloween.
