Presale tickets are now available for $15, which includes a choice of ham or chicken, baked potato, applesauce, a roll, and a Little Debbie snack. Tickets purchased on the day of the event are $16. The dinner is drive-thru only and will be held Sunday, June 8 at Apollo Career Center.
The West Ohio Food Bank makes sure that people have a good meal to enjoy over Christmas. Employees, volunteers, and Santa and Mrs. Claus were all on hand to hand out meals to whoever wanted them. Besides ready to heat and eat ham dinners, the food bank also gave out free pet food for people who asked for it. This all started last year because they saw need locally that they were able to fill.
The 18th annual Lima Community Christmas Dinner to be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 is being moved from this Sunday, Christmas Day to Sunday, January 8th. A local favorite, the meal of turkey, ham, and mashed potatoes is free of charge but below-zero wind chills and tricky travel conditions are forcing the change.
The West Ohio Food Bank is handing out a pre-cooked ready-to-heat and eat ham dinner. It will be this Saturday on Christmas Eve from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or while supplies last. The process will be much like their regular distribution day. Enter on the west side and exit on the east side. The "to-go" dinners will be handed to you.
An Allen County Family is helping make sure that other have a good meal for Christmas. Angie Sanchez and her family handed out complete ham or turkey dinners to clients of Changing Seasons. This year they were able to raise enough money to buy meals for 50 different families. The family has been doing this for a few years and they enjoy giving back this time of year.
A semi-truck showed up to the West Ohio Food Bank on Thursday morning to deliver thousands of Sugardale hams just in time for the holiday. With many Ohioans out of work, Linda Hamilton, the CEO of the West Ohio food banks, says the distribution lines are getting longer with more families needing to be fed.
