LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Kiwanis Club is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year: the annual Barbecue Chicken and Ham Dinner, with proceeds supporting a range of community and youth programs.
Funds raised go toward the club’s service leadership programs as well as adults with developmental disabilities.
Presale tickets are now available for $15, which includes a choice of ham or chicken, baked potato, applesauce, a roll, and a Little Debbie snack. Tickets purchased on the day of the event are $16. The dinner is drive-thru only and will be held Sunday, June 8 at Apollo Career Center.
“This is currently our largest fundraiser,” said Robert Day of the Lima Kiwanis Club. “Last year, we netted around $4,000, which we use to support organizations that deal primarily with children in this area. We also fund our servant leadership program with the Lima schools, Heir Force Community School, Ohio State Lima, and the Allen County Board of DD.”
Funds raised go toward the club’s service leadership programs, which engage around 200 individuals from elementary through college-age students, as well as adults with developmental disabilities. These programs are part of the broader Lima Kiwanis family of clubs focused on fostering leadership and service in the community. To purchase tickets or learn more, call (419) 228-4000.
