Mark Butterman, 59, was arrested following an investigation by the FBI and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. He was arraigned Monday in federal court in Toledo and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A Hardin County man has been charged with the death of his father, who has been missing since spring. 42-year-old Dustin Bolen was indicted on the charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse for the presumed death of his father, Michael Bolen. He was also indicted on weapons charges, trafficking fentanyl, theft from a person in a protected class, and possessing criminal tools.
September 25, 2024, Press Release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office: The Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Ridgemont Local School District learned of a threat made by a current student on September 25, 2024. The school resource office and school officials immediately removed the student from class. As a result of the investigation, one juvenile was taken into custody and faces charges of inducing panic. The juvenile was transported to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center, where he will remain until he can be arraigned in the Hardin County Juvenile Court.

The Hardin County Sheriff's Office released an update on the search for 66-year-old Mike Bolen. Bolen was reported missing on Easter and was last seen on Good Friday. Detectives searched Bolen's home on Saturday and collected items for forensic testing. They have done numerous interviews and searched various locations. A head on collision in Hardin County killed four people on Thursday. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a call came in around 5:30 p.m. Thursday of a crash in the 20,000 block of CR144. When deputies arrived, they found a sedan and minivan had crashed head on with the drivers and passengers all dead.
