The health and wellness expo Bridging the Gap is coming up, we get the details!
Jason Risner, executive director of Primrose, said the expo helps residents “age in place” by connecting them with care partners and resources. “Sometimes in order for that to happen, we have to get some care partners involved, and education and knowing about what’s available is so important to make that happen,” Risner said.
People across the area found resources to help improve their mind, body and spirit at the 11th annual Bridging the Gap Health and Wellness Expo.
Earlier Wednesday, the Kessler Estates of Senior Living put on a health and wellness expo. Free and open to the public, the expo serves as a reminder and opportunity to educate residents and those within the community about the resources and services nearby that can both benefit their lives and mental well-being. Providers in attendance consisted of physical and occupational therapy, senior living community, and home health, with participants able to walk away with a raffle prize.
Creating a healthy community is the goal of a health and wellness expo this weekend. Bridging the Gap is holding their annual event to improve the access of health care to those who are under served. More than 40 vendors will be on hand to help educate people on the resources available and provide health screenings. New this year will be a sickle cell screening.
An initiative started to bring awareness to the health disparities among minorities is gaining steam and growing.
