“Saturday really was our big celebration,” said Elizabeth Leis, director of operations at The Met. “In fact, I kind of forgot it was really on Monday because we celebrated awfully hard on Saturday. But today we do still have our drinks. We have our Gettin’ Lucky Tavern Burger. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately—I’m not sure—we sold out of all our corned beef and hash on Saturday.”
Despite the cold weather Friday evening, many people still went out and about celebrating St. Patrick's Day.
Beer Barrel was hopping with people getting some good Irish food this afternoon. Patrons were wearing their green showing their Irish Pride and some even enjoying a green beer for the occasion. There was something for everyone, even if you weren’t Irish. Over at The Met, the kitchen was busy making their Irish dishes and libations with several green options on the menu.
The Irish in all of us has been pent up for two years and this weekend the celebration is on. The Lima Irish Day Parade is back and better than ever. Irish both young and old will be out and about celebrating and local law enforcement agencies want to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly and to follow the rules for Lima’s Downtown Outdoor Recreation Area, better known as “DORA”. Drinks purchased in participating establishments in the “DORA” approved cup can be taken outside in the designated areas and all laws regarding alcohol must be followed.
