LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – St. Patrick’s Day celebrations carried on Monday as many in the area marked the holiday on its official date.
The Met in downtown Lima offered Irish-inspired food and drinks for the occasion. Patrons could enjoy the "Gettin’ Lucky Tavern Burger" and a selection of cocktails reminiscent of Ireland. While Saturday was the main celebration, the venue ensured the spirit of the holiday lasted through the day.

“Saturday really was our big celebration,” said Elizabeth Leis, director of operations at The Met. “In fact, I kind of forgot it was really on Monday because we celebrated awfully hard on Saturday. But today we do still have our drinks. We have our Gettin’ Lucky Tavern Burger. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately—I’m not sure—we sold out of all our corned beef and hash on Saturday.”
For some, the extended festivities were the perfect way to mark another special occasion.
“It’s close to my birthday and still St. Patrick’s Day,” said Sandy Kennedy, who is celebrating her birthday on March 18. “I mean, coming here to eat is just fun, too. So it’s fun to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.”
Many people donned green attire for the holiday and were happy to be out celebrating.
