Lima City Council approved resolutions to begin towing nuisance vehicles that violate city code and to address increased costs for the city's nearly completed $5 million floating solar project at Twin Lakes Reservoir.

The City of Lima has announced the final five "Walking the Wards with Mayor Sharetta Smith" meetings, giving residents an opportunity to discuss neighborhood concerns and learn about ongoing city projects. The events will be held monthly through October and will include ward progress reports and updates on future investments throughout the city.

"It's important that we're responsive to our residents and our business owners and our community members," Begonia said. "We really take all of the feedback that they share with us, and we turn that into action through our programs, initiatives, and services."

"Beanie is going to go throughout our neighborhoods, and he's going to help us avoid some of the common property maintenance violations that we see so that we can make sure that our neighborhoods are clean, safe and well maintained,” said Jessica Begonia, Public Information Officer for the City of Lima.

Through the program, Mayor Smith spends time walking through different city wards, having one-on-one conversations with residents and city officials. The goal is to get an in-depth look at the concerns and priorities that matter most to residents.
