LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Local business leaders gathered today to learn how they can help build a safer, stronger, and more inclusive Lima as part of the city’s “Rising Together” initiative.
The theme emphasizes collaboration and shared progress, and was the focus of remarks delivered by City of Lima Public Information Officer Jessica Begonia. She outlined the five foundational goals introduced by Mayor Sharetta Smith, which aim to guide the city’s development and community engagement efforts.
Those goals include creating safe and livable neighborhoods, driving economic growth, fostering innovation and partnership, and building an inclusive and engaged community.
"It's important that we're responsive to our residents and our business owners and our community members," Begonia said. "We really take all of the feedback that they share with us, and we turn that into action through our programs, initiatives, and services."
Some of those initiatives include the Neighborhood Traffic Calming Initiative, the Rapid Rental Repair Program, and the Better Blocks for Businesses effort, among many others.
