On 06/27/22 Hardin County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2017 Ford Explorer that had been stolen in Trenton, Michigan. When Deputies activated their overhead lights to initiate the stop, the driver fled south on US Rt 68. The pursuit began approximately one mile north of Kenton. The vehicle continued through the city of Kenton and continued south on US Rt 68 into Logan County at high rates of speed.
Several local law enforcement agencies are searching for missing 7 year old Trinity Hurt. She was last seen on November 10, 2021 at approximately 730pm at her South Leighton Street home in Kenton, Ohio. She was last seen wearing pink or purple pajamas. Trinity weighs approximately 60 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes and is approximately 4.5 feet tall.
Sad news as the City of Kenton says that just before 5 p.m. Monday, the body of 4-year-old Quentin Elcessor was found in the Scioto River. Kenton thanked the community through its press release for the outpouring of support in this difficult time, as well as the massive response from local, state, and federal agencies that rushed to their aid.
The damage was contained to the inside of this Walmart in Kenton, after a fire broke out on Monday. But officials are saying this was no accident.
On Tuesday afternoon, 26-year-old Caleb Poole of Fredricktown, Ohio was taken into custody, near Columbus, by the FBI and Hardin County Crime Task Force. Poole is being held by the FBI for an act of terrorism.
Crews responded to Walmart on E. Columbus Street around 6:45 Monday evening. Officials say the suspect started a fire after placing items in a cart, in the women’s clothing section and setting fire to them.
