The City of Lima's Human Resources Director talked to council members about the upcoming process of selecting Lima's next Chief of Police. At Monday night's Human Resources Committee meeting, it was announced that current Lima Police Chief, James Baker, will plan to retire on July 7th. According to Lima Human Resources Director, Della Bradford, there are two Majors with the Lima Police Department eligible to take the Police Chief promotional exam. If one or both of the Majors decide not to run for Police Chief, the City of Lima will provide Lieutenants the chance to take the exam. Following Monday night's committee meeting, we talked with Bradford about the next steps of this process.

Lieutenant Sisco began his Patrol career in October 2001 as a member of the 138th Academy Class. He earned his commission in April of the following year and was assigned to the Van Wert Post. In 2008, he earned the Criminal Patrol Award. He was selected as Post Trooper of the Year twice and District Trooper of the Year in 2009. In 2011, he also earned the Criminal Patrol Certificate. As a trooper, he also served at the Defiance Post.

Chicken prepared by Scooters Catering was hot off the grill starting at 11A.M. on Mother’s Day and sold out fairly quick. For every meal bought, a portion of the money went toward the Firefighters Helping Lima charity fund that continues to support local nonprofit organizations with the help of fundraisers like these.

Two people are now dead after a two-car accident Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Thayer Road. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Lima post was dispatched to the scene around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. A black vehicle driving northbound on Thayer Road pulled into traffic and was struck by a red truck traveling eastbound on U.S. 30.

Three juveniles are currently hospitalized after the driver of a car lost control of the vehicle on Convoy Road.

The accident occurred this afternoon around three when the driver of the vehicle sped down Convoy Road, causing the car to flip over onto the side of the road, according to the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
