Keith Cunningham, another former member, called the reunion “a great idea” and said it inspired him to consider returning. “It was a lot of fun, good to see people that I haven't seen for many years. And yeah, of course, it gives you pause to think maybe I maybe I should try this again. So I'll be thinking about it over the holidays and the first of the year,” Cunningham said.
The Lima chapter of Altrusa International brought the community together Saturday to watch the Kentucky Derby. This marks the third year the group has hosted its Kentucky Derby fundraiser.
Two additional agencies teaming up to provide fun and healthy options for foster and kinship families living in Allen County. The Lima Family YMCA and Allen County Children Services are working to provide one-year memberships to the "Y" for certified foster and kinship relative homes. The program will help program families benefit from exercise and family time together.
The first in-person meeting and yearly membership drive since the pandemic took place Monday morning at the Howard Johnson in Lima. Their focus is on safety and wellness in the workplace, and thousands of Ohio employers benefit from the education and resource sharing by participating in their meetings. Eligible businesses who participate can earn a 2% rebate on their worker's compensation premium.

Being a member does give you discounts on many of their programs. “Splash” week is the first full week of June and is a great way to get kids 3 years of age and up familiar with the water as summer approaches.
At their annual breakfast President and CEO Jed Metzger announces that even with the pandemic their membership is up 4%. The chamber’s mission is to serve, enhance business growth and promote success. They support approximately 1,400 businesses in the area and have seen a substantial increase in new businesses.
