Summer is just around the corner and the Lima Family YMCA is gearing up to keep the whole family active.
Sign up for their summer camp and learn to swim classes are underway and their Summer Sizzle membership special is now available. Being a member does give you discounts on many of their programs. “Splash” week is the first full week of June and is a great way to get kids 3 years of age and up familiar with the water as summer approaches.
New YMCA Aquatics Director Sam Perkins explains, “This class is going to teach them basic skills, if they were to fall into the water, it would teach them to get out of the water. It’s also going to teach them how to enjoy the water so if they were to find themselves in that situation they would not only know how to get out, but they will also learn how to have fun in the water as well.”
Classes are only 5-dollars per child and are split into ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 years and up. You can register on the YMCA’s website.
