Governor Mike DeWine signed that order on Sunday as he began his second term. He cited concerns that personal information and business data collected by those platforms may be shared with the Chinese government. The order prohibits state agencies, boards, and commissions from using social media platforms whose owners are in China.
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose would like to see a supermajority in elections, but that requirement would only be for voter-approved amendments that are put on by the public, not by state lawmakers. For ballot issues put on by state lawmakers, like Issue One and Two in this past general election, the pass or failure would only have to reach, at least, 50%.

It is in response to the 4 to 3 vote of the Ohio Supreme Court rejecting the trial judge's decision to consider the victim's family's fear of retribution when setting bail in a homicide case in Hamilton County.

In the August election, local Republicans and Democrats can vote on races for the state representative, state senate, and central committee races. The second primary was needed after the Ohio Supreme Court rejected five sets of maps drawn by the Ohio Redistricting Commission. A federal court ruled that the August second primary would proceed with the 3rd set of maps that the commission drew.
That is why the five largest business organizations in the state announced their endorsement of Pat Fischer and Pat DeWine for re-election to the Ohio Supreme Court and Sharon Kennedy for Chief Justice of the court. After interviewing all of the candidates for the justice seats, the business organization felt these candidates would enforce the laws in Ohio and not legislate from the bench and leave business issues to the Ohio General Assembly.
