October 15, 2024, Press Release from the Bath Township Fire Department: Bath Township Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 report of a mobile home on fire at 1503 Findlay Road, Lot #17, Lima, Ohio, in Bath Township at 6:42 P.M. Upon arrival, firefighters found a small fire in the laundry room of the trailer home, and it was quickly extinguished. The mobile home is owned by Nancy Gross who was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape with no injuries. Ms. Gross advised fire department officials that she was alerted by her smoke alarms. Chief Joseph Kitchen estimates the damage to Lot #17 to be $2,500 to the structure and $2,500 to the contents. No fire department personnel were injured. Lima Fire Department and Perry Twp. EMS assisted at the scene of the fire.
The Perry Township Fire Department responded to a fire at 116 Colony Trail. Unfortunately, there is no video of the trailer as the mobile home park is private property and our crew was asked to leave. According to Perry Fire Chief Justin Roberts, firefighters entered the burning trailer and found a deceased adult female in the rear of the trailer. He says the investigation has led them to the living room as the origin of the fire.
The Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities brought their mobile smart home to Allen County to showcase the latest advancements in technology that can help those who need supportive care. From a state-of-the-art tracking system to devices that help with overall communication, the mobile home hopes to show that there are advancements in overall care.
The county treasurer says that as of Wednesday they had about 50-percent payment of taxes due. The last few days are always a busy time for people paying their taxes and they usually get around 90% of the taxes due paid on time. If you are finding it difficult to pay your taxes in full pay a portion and contact their office to make arrangements on the remainder.
Just after 10 a.m. Friday morning, the Ada Jackson Township Fire Department was called out to the 500 block of East Lincoln Avenue for a fully engulfed trailer fire. The flames were so big, that it caught a neighboring trailer on fire too. The mobile home where the fire originated is a total loss, the other trailer sustained substantial damage. It is unknown at this time what caused the fire. The Red Cross was called in to help the people living in the trailers.
The call came down just after 1 a.m. to 2145 N. Dixie Highway, lot number 49. Chief Joe Kitchen says the mobile home was heavily involved with fire and smoke showing. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries. Chief Kitchen says the damage was around $10,000. Fire departments from Lima, Beaverdam, and Perry Township were brought in to help. No word on what was the cause, firefighters spent about 3 hours on the scene. The renter of the home had no insurance and the Red Cross is helping out.
Friday(7/13/18) is the deadline for Allen County residents to get real estate and mobile home taxes in.
