Edwards earlier this month entered a plea of guilty to the charges of involuntary manslaughter, aggravated possession of drugs, and endangering children. In February 2020, 2-year-old Ezra Siegrist died at a Montezuma home. The autopsy done by the Montgomery County Coroner's Office says that the boy died as a result of "methamphetamine intoxication" and "blunt force trauma to the head". Edwards was in a relationship with his mother at the time of his death.
Fire crews were on the scene of a house explosion outside of Celina. The Montezuma Fire Chief says that crews were dispatched out to the house at the 3000 block of CR 716A.
