SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - A local church and bikers continued a decades-long tradition to kickstart summer.
Findlay police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Coventry Drive just after 11 p.m. Monday for a report of a single motorcycle crash. The 44-year-old male single rider was found dead a short distance from the motorcycle. Police determined through an investigation that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Coventry Drive when he left the roadway and struck a mailbox.

PRESS RELEASE: Daniel J. Andres, age 48, of Bryan, Ohio, was driving a 2008 EBR motorcycle, and Ryan M. Sprow, age 45, of Sherwood, Ohio was driving a 2008 Buell motorcycle. They were driving their motorcycles together westbound on County Road H west of County Road 13 when they both struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Both drivers then lost control of their motorcycles, and were ejected.
Motorcyclists from across the area came together to ride to help the families of fallen veterans and first responders. This is the first year, that a bike run in Auglaize County has been held for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The foundation is a national nonprofit that helps families of military and first responders who died on duty with their mortgages, and build homes for people where were severely disabled while they served.

The bikers then pedaled off to Findlay, Ottawa, and ended the day in Tiffin. The goal was to promote healthy living for the staff to bring even better care to the residents.
