Speed is suspected to be a factor in a motorcycle crash that killed an Alger man Thursday night. The Hardin County Sheriff's Office reports that Chad Goodin died at the scene of the crash on State Route 235. Officials say he was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from his motorcycle.

Memorial Day weekend means things like cookouts and celebrations, but with that comes travelers and keeping the roads safe. Beginning Friday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be out in full force for the holiday weekend in an effort to keep the roads safe for travelers. This includes enforcing a crackdown on impaired drivers and using seat belts. Last year, there were 24 crashes during Memorial Day weekend, and 18 of them were OVI-related.

A new tradition began today at Grand Lake in Celina! Today and tomorrow (May 18th), the Boardwalk Village is hosting their first annual Boardwalk Boat & Bike Show. Local dealers will be at the event, displaying and selling boats, motorcycles, ATVs, golf carts, and more. There will also be food trucks, live music, and a cornhole tournament at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The show is the first to be held at Grand Lake in several years. Boardwalk Village hopes to draw out-of-town visitors to come see what both their resort and the rest of Celina have to offer.

Findlay police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Coventry Drive just after 11 p.m. Monday for a report of a single motorcycle crash. The 44-year-old male single rider was found dead a short distance from the motorcycle. Police determined through an investigation that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Coventry Drive when he left the roadway and struck a mailbox.

PRESS RELEASE: Daniel J. Andres, age 48, of Bryan, Ohio, was driving a 2008 EBR motorcycle, and Ryan M. Sprow, age 45, of Sherwood, Ohio was driving a 2008 Buell motorcycle. They were driving their motorcycles together westbound on County Road H west of County Road 13 when they both struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Both drivers then lost control of their motorcycles, and were ejected.

Motorcyclists from across the area came together to ride to help the families of fallen veterans and first responders.  This is the first year, that a bike run in Auglaize County has been held for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.  The foundation is a national nonprofit that helps families of military and first responders who died on duty with their mortgages, and build homes for people where were severely disabled while they served.
