Wapakoneta celebrated the 19th year of its Children’s Hometown Holiday with a free, volunteer-powered three-day event that included activities, treats and gifts for local kids.
The return of maple syrup season means it’s time to embrace one of Ohio’s sweetest traditions! This March, four Ohio state parks will host maple syrup festivals, inviting visitors to experience the age-old craft of sugaring while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities and delicious maple treats.
The Lima Noon Sertoma held their annual pancake day on Saturday. Now in its 64th year, the breakfast event helps raise money for local organizations, such as the summer speech clinic, SHARP, Faurot Park Shelter House, and the Salvation Army.
Hundreds of people came out to the annual all you can eat Convoy Fire Pancake Day. Throughout the morning families and friends enjoyed pancakes and whole hog sausages. The breakfast was served by volunteers.
The fire department was also hard at work as they cooked pancakes and sausages in a trailer outside. Because convoy is a volunteer fire department it can be difficult at times to cover all their expenses. But with the extra money from this event, it helps them cover necessary costs.
The Coldwater Kiwanis are working to serve their community by serving up some hot breakfast. The group held their annual All You Can Eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at Coldwater High School. Much of the money raised from the event will go to help support local youth causes like little league, Arts in the Park, and camper-ships for the 4-H camp in Celina.
In Shawnee, many people started their St. Patrick's Day with a nice helping of pancakes.
The Minster Service Club was dishing up their annual Palm Sunday breakfast Sunday morning.
