Ohio House District 44 Representative and Majority Whip Josh Williams stopped in Lima on Friday to speak at the Allen County Republican luncheon about his journey into politics.
Ohio's Auditor Keith Faber announced that he will be running for the Attorney General's Seat. Faber has served both in the Ohio House and Senate before becoming the state's Auditor.
Brown is expected to seek reelection. Dolan's announcement makes him the first Republican in that race. Dolan is a member of the family that owns baseball's Cleveland Guardians. Dolan made his first Senate bid last to replace Rob Portman in Washington. He was the rare candidate in that crowded Republican primary who didn't back the narrative that the 2020 election was either stolen from Former President Donald Trump or fraught with fraud or other problems.

With the retirement of Margie Murphy Miller, the position is now open. Republican Chairman Keith Cheney says they are now accepting resumes for the position. The Allen County Commissioners will appoint an interim clerk of courts on September 1st. Once resumes are received, reviewed and interviews have been done a recommendation will be sent to the Allen County Republican Central Committee.
The Ohio Secretary of State was the guest speaker at the Allen County Republican luncheon on Friday. Frank LaRose (R-OH) was elected as Ohio's Secretary of State in 2018, and has won the primary over challengers this past week.
The two democrats that are looking to be the governor candidate to advance to the general election in November face off for the first time Tuesday night. Former Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and Former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley took part in a debate at Central State University. They talked about gun control, the changes to conceal and carry, and economic development. Whaley was asked if the governor’s office can do to spread investments to all corners of Ohio instead of just Columbus and Cincinnati.

The already redrawn maps retained strong Republican majorities and sent them back for a third try. In another 4-3 decision Monday, the court gave the bipartisan Ohio redistricting commission 10 days to pass a constitutional map. It ruled the panel's redrawn maps of Ohio House and Senate districts still violate a 2015 constitutional amendment. That amendment mandated attempts at avoiding partisan favoritism and at proportionally distributing districts to reflect Ohio's 54% Republican, 46% Democratic split. Republican Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor provided a pivotal swing vote.
Susan Manchester filed for the newly drawn 86th State Representative seat which is made up of Allen County and northern and eastern Auglaize County. The Republican has served two terms in Columbus representing part of Auglaize County, as well as Shelby and Mercer counties. She is currently chair of The Families, Aging and Human Services Committee where she created a law to allow foster parent training in Ohio to be more flexible, so people can provide loving homes for foster kids.
