COLUMBUS, Ohio (WLIO) — Ohio Auditor Keith Faber has announced his candidacy for state attorney general. Faber, a Republican from Mercer County, will be term-limited out of the Auditor's office in 2026. Current Attorney General David Yost, also term-limited, has already declared his intention to run for governor.
The 59-year-old Faber said his primary focus as attorney general would be public safety. He brings a wealth of experience from his time in both the Ohio House and Senate, where he was selected to serve as Senate president in 2013.
As auditor, Faber has concentrated on holding accountable those responsible for misspending taxpayer dollars. His office uncovered billions of dollars in unemployment fraud during the pandemic.
