KENTON, Ohio (WLIO) - An eagle scout candidate unveiled his final service project to kick off National Police Week.

Jadon Holbrook, who is an eagle scout candidate from troop 1-24 in Ada, unveiled and dedicated a law enforcement memorial at the Hardin County sheriff's office. The memorial has the names, dates, and positions each officer served. Jadon made the memorial as part of his service project, which is the final requirement for the rank of eagle scout. The memorial serves as a reminder that although the officers lost their lives, they will always be remembered in the Hardin County community.

"We went to visit the National Officer's Memorial, and I asked my dad, where's this for the men and women who've died in our county? And, he goes, there isn't one. And, I viewed that I needed to fix that, so this is where it all came from," says Jadon Holbrook, Eagle Scout Candidate.

"I wish the officers who were on the wall knew this was taking place, but now, they are going to be remembered forever here in Hardin County," says Scott Holbrook, Chief Deputy for the Hardin County Sheriff's Department.

Jadon expects to receive his eagle scout rank around the end of June.
