The call reportedly was made from someone in the neighborhood, who saw the second floor fill with smoke. Firefighters arrived and called in a second alarm requesting help from American Township. Fire crews then started a search of the home and extinguished a fire located in the attic.

Kesha Drake has resigned from the Bradfield Community Association as their executive director. She has been a part of the organization for eight years. The Bradfield Center says that her contributions to not only the center but to the entire community can still be felt to this day, and will always be remembered.

The search of the residence yielded a marijuana grow with approximately 36 plants, a Psilocybin mushroom grow consisting of approximately 23 grow pods in various stages of development, over 2.2 pounds of marijuana, a small amount of cash and numerous items indicative of drug cultivation and drug abuse.

With the retirement of Margie Murphy Miller, the position is now open. Republican Chairman Keith Cheney says they are now accepting resumes for the position. The Allen County Commissioners will appoint an interim clerk of courts on September 1st. Once resumes are received, reviewed and interviews have been done a recommendation will be sent to the Allen County Republican Central Committee.

Mayor Smith announced Shane Coleman as her chief of staff. Coleman comes from the Lima Allen County Regional Planning Commission where he was the executive director. He also was the safety service director for the City of Delphos. The mayor says she is confident in her choice of Coleman and he says he is looking forward to the challenges the position will hold.
