Christmas came early for some area seniors as they got pampered at Apollo Career Center on Monday. Clients at the Senior Citizens Services in Lima were invited to the Apollo senior cosmetology class to get a manicure or hairstyle. The ladies say they enjoyed getting attention to their hair and nails while the students were eager to practice the skills they have learned in class.

16 teams from across West Central Ohio participated in a round robin Pickleball tournament hosted by the Senior Citizens Services on Saturday.  This over 50 crowd put on their game faces to have some fun and enjoy themselves on the new courts at the center.

Need a bit of inspiration on your journey to a healthier life? 64-year-old Gloria Kershner from Lima started working toward her weight loss back in 2011. With ups and downs in between, she reached her goal weight last year and continues to keep up with her healthy lifestyle. 

A unique kind of boxing program has been brought from Indiana to Northwest Ohio to help those that deal with Parkinson's disease. It's called Rock Steady Boxing and this was the first official session in Lima, held at Senior Citizens Services, with 15 boxers ready to take on the challenge of fighting back against their Parkinson's.

They have served and protected our country and a local organization now wants to give back to them and is asking for the support of the community. 

A group took to the water Saturday morning to help out a local cause.
