Support our veterans

They have served and protected our country and a local organization now wants to give back to them and is asking for the support of the community.

The Chained Eagles in partnership with Senior Citizens Services is collecting personal hygiene items, clothes, snacks, and other products for veterans at the Dayton Veterans Affairs Hospital. For more than 20 years, this POW-MIA awareness group has held a picnic for the patients and staff to thank them for their service.

"A lot of people come in to the VA hospital down there and have no family, no means of support or nothing. So we try to gather up as much clothing as we can, especially undergarments, men and women. There are women in the VA system, now a lot more than used to be," said Chained Eagles Trustee, John Schmiedebusch.

If you would like to support their cause you can drop items off at the Senior Citizens Services at 3400 West Elm Street until August 4, 2017. The picnic will be Sunday, August 6th in Dayton at the VA hospital.
