Dana Incorporated and the United Auto Workers, Local 1765 have teamed up to support multiple assisted living facilities in the area, as they remain on strict lockdowns. The automotive parts company and union donated grills, flowers, birdbaths, and feeders, and face masks to the nursing homes. They include The Greens at Lochhaven Assisted Living, Shawnee Manor, and Lost Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. UAW’S community service committee asked the union for a donation for the project, and Dana matched it. The committee hopes adopting these assisted living facilities can provide some normalcy to the residents during this time.

Now that it feels like fall local agencies are getting into the mood with festivals and gatherings. This Saturday, Shawnee Manor along Burton's Ridge is inviting the public to join them for their annual Fall Fest. Organizers say it's a way they can give back. Families will enjoy an afternoon filled with activities including face painting, a petting zoo, inflatables, and of course food. There's something for everyone.

A local memorial project getting a big boost with a donation from Shawnee Manor and HCF. The Allen County 9/11 Memorial fund receiving $4,413.91 from a recent designer purse bingo held by Shawnee Manor. A donation of this size is substantial to the project as it will help get it up and running. The memorial will be located in Shawnee Township next to the firehouse - not just as a memorial - but also as an educational tool for generations.

A group of New York firefighters that survived 9-11 have been traveling the country entertaining people for a laugh. The "Laughter Saves Lives" comedy show is coming to Lima/Allen County. The group was formed in 2011 to remember and honor the brave men and women who lost their lives in the September 11th attack on our nation in 2001.

Although the temperatures sure don't show it, fall has arrived, and one local nursing care facility wants to celebrate.
