     Shelby County deputies are investigating a police chase that ended in a fatal crash.  65-year-old pof Sidney died in the crash.    According to the sheriff's deputies, the Sidney Police officers tried to pull over Gunter around  2:30 pm Sunday afternoon, but he sped off.  The chase reached speeds over 100 miles per hour, the vehicle traveled off the southside of the road, overturned and then continue to hit a tree and a house in the 19000 block of Dingman Slagle Road.  The speed of the vehicle was so great the engine separated from the car traveled another 100 feet down the road.  Gunter was pronounced dead at the scene and the crash is still under investigation.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says 62-year-old Linda Oleyar was pronounced dead at the scene and a medical condition could be to blame.  Around 8 p.m., Oleyar was southbound in the 17,000 block of Wenger Road and went off the east side of the road into a cornfield. Witnesses pulled her from the car and started lifesaving efforts, but they did not work. The accident remains under investigation.

An Anna motorcyclist life-flighted from the scene of an early morning crash in Shelby County. Sheriff's deputies say 50-year-old Christopher Knouff suffered serious injuries after being thrown from the motorcycle. Reports say he was heading south on County Road 25, just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, when a car driven by 19-year-old Carlie Watkins of Minster turned in front of him. Knouff was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash reported by a 911 call just after midnight Wednesday morning. Deputies say the driver of a Honda SUV was heading west in the 2100 block of State Route 47 and lost control on a curve, the car flipped onto its side. The SUV slid off the road and went airborne, landing in a nearby yard, slamming into a tree, ejecting the driver who was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was life-flighted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

A Fairborn, Ohio man has been arrested after leading police on a chase through Shelby and Auglaize counties. 34-year-old Omar Rivera has been charged with one count of fleeing and eluding a police officer. Just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office notified law enforcement in Auglaize County that they were in pursuit of Rivera and he was driving upstate Route 66.
